Adrian on the Bus

Please join us on this 3,000 mile journey to inspire over 10,000 children and plant 1,000 trees by sponsoring a portion of it at $1 a mile. EVERY DONATION HELPS.

Hello friends and family,

As many of you know, I am on the road with, Common Vision's 7th annual all-volunteer Fruit Tree Tour. For the next 5 weeks we will be traveling through California on the world's largest recycled-veggie oil caravan, with a group of 20 educators! While on tour we will be visiting a school a day, beginning with a green theater performance, and ending with an orchard planting on the campus. After the performance we spread out on the campus and work with the kids to plant an orchard on the school yard. By the end of the tour we will plant 1,000 fruit trees.

Common Vision is an incredible non-profit organization and being on tour has been an inspiring learning experience for me. The crew I am with is an amazing group of educators, organizers, farmers, permaculturalists, musicians, actors, veggie mechanics, videographers, photographers, artists, all putting their energy towards a common vision for the future. The dedication and work that is being put into this project is humbling.

You can check out the website to learn more about this organization's important work. If your inspired... get involved! There are a bunch of ways to help this solution based organization! Small contributions from tour friends like yourselves help purchase fruit trees and keep us on the road.

Hope this finds you all well and inspired!

Hey All,

I am boogieing around right now on the world's largest veggie-oil powered caravan and we are in the process of planting 1,000 fruit trees at high schools and elementary schools all across California. We are an all-volunteer crew of educators, and I am acting as the head chef for the tour....cooking up lots of delicious grub aboard the kitchen bus! The kitchen has an all-bamboo interior with an 8-burner commercial Wolf range stove! Needless to say, I am having tons of fun! Check out our calendar to see if we will be in your area anytime soon so that we can meet up and plant trees together!

The crew I am with is an amazing group of educators, organizers, farmers, permaculturalists, musicians, actors, veggie mechanics, videographers, photographers, artists, all putting their energy towards a common vision for the future. The dedication and work that is being put into this project is humbling, and we are excited about bringing such a positive message to kids.

Dan Bean's Mile-a-thon

Hi friends, as some of you know I am giving up my sedentary, status quo life and joining with seventeen other goofball educators, to plant over a thousand fruit trees and well that’s just the bit I can fit into one sentence. Commonvision (.org) is an all volunteer non profit that has been making this ‘fruit tree tour’ happen for seven years now. In a time when school programs of any worth (my biased opinion) like music, art, and hands on science are being cut; Fruit tree tour is reaching over twelve thousand students (mostly in underserved communities) with a full music, dance and giant puppet filled program, not to mention the students planting the trees. And yes the big ol stylee busses that will be taking us on the three thousand mile tour, run on used grease from restaurants. The breakdown is pretty amazing, schools pay two hundred to eight hundred dollars to plant trees and inspire their school, and the actual price per school is around two thousand dollars; so where does the rest of the money come from, yep you guessed it. Obama raised millions of dollars in smallish donations from people who usually don’t find themselves giving money, and that’s exactly how we make up the difference of school money spent and the money needed. Of course even tiny donations help.

This is more than a call for money, I am mostly exited to share this project that has been inspiring me, for years even though this is the first year I have joined the tour. We are going to be updating a newsletter weekly and putting new pictures and movie clips.
Yay,
Danbean
Ps. I am oh so stoked… and a little nervous about waking up at six thirty in the morning most days (yikes).

Daver's Mile-a-thon

Greetings and Blessings friends and family!

As many of you know, I have dedicated the next six weeks of my life to California based non-profit Common Vision's spring event, Fruit Tree Tour! This tour recognizes the need for better access to music, art, and healthy food in low income communities, and we strive to provide a creative solution to these problems.

As one of 20 volunteers living, working, and traveling on the worlds largest vegetable oil powered caravan, I will help create and lead a day long program which we will bring to over 30 schools and share with over 10,000 students. The program includes:

- an exciting, involved, and colorful performance designed to inspire the youth about the environment.

- Eco Beats, an expressive workshop of drumming, dancing, hip-hop, and painting.

- Fruit Tree Planting where we help kids plant over 1,000 fruit trees.

Through this process of inspiring the youth and planting fruit forests, we are helping solve environmental issues and hunger problems for years to come. This work is very important , totally satisfying, and greatly underfunded.

If you would like to help with this inspirational work, please joining me on this 3,000 mile journey by sponsoring a portion of it at $1 a mile.

EVERY DONATION HELPS. From $5 to $3,000, whatever you can offer. Please take the time to invest in the youth, and the health of our planet. Thank you so much!
